Well folks, what a year!

Releasing RETURN FROM PLANET DUB feat. Lee Perry, David Lynch & Ariup, playing shows in Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Czech Republic, Austria, touring 2 times in a year the US including a “once in a life time” show with the dudes from Subatomic Sound System, Mr. Jahdan Blakkamore, Treasure Don and the master himself Lee Scratch Perry @ Central Park NYC last July, we still have to say: “This year ain’t over yet!”

We proudly present: Jahdan Blakkamoore/Matt Shadedek/Subatomic Sound System & Dubblestandart all together for one exclusive show here in Vienna/Austria - Thursday Dec 10th @ Fluc Wanne. This is also our warm up show for the Dubblestandart India Tour 2009 starting Dec 16th. “…and yep”: Subatomic Sound System will be with us on the road!

What else is on our mind: Have u seen the Blackboard Jungle Dub Documentary?
The sold out 12inch Vinyl Chase De Devil/12inch and the Blackboard Jungle Dub 12inch releases featuring Lee Perry/Jahdan Blakkamoore produced together with Subatomic Sound System from NYC. Lucky ones might still find a copy. David Lynch/Rob Smith & Subatomic Sound System will also be on our next Dubstep 12inch versioning Jean Michel Jarres Oxygen Part 4 into modern dub. Selling out 2 editions of our double album RETURN FROM PLANET DUB holds us in check to keep our feet’s on the ground and continue our serious work in the field of contemporary Dub.
Lion Dub from Brooklyn is currently working on a drum & bass remix for I DOO VOODOO feat. Lee Perry & Gudrun(from former She Says). Concent Productions from NYC/Tokyo will soon release a Japan Exclusive Remix CD with the best of Dubblestandart in the mix. More info soon…
Subatomic Sound System will soon release their first world wide long player in 2010.Sounds from the melting pot from NYC. Our Sister Ariup with whom we had the pleasure to tour in Europe & Canada back in 2006 and who is also on our last 2 albums recently released the long awaited Slits Album Trapped Animal.
And last but not least we haven’t been lazy, so get ready for the next Dubblestandart album hitting stores in early 2010: DUBBLESTANDART/MARIJUANA DREAMS of course on Collison Records. Well, it took us some time to work on all the beautiful material we’ve been recording since we released Streets Of Dub back in 2002, but i believe, it was worth the wait:
We've been in the studio together with Mikey Dread, Sly & Robbie, Dillinger a. o. to work on tracks that should redefine the meaning of dub. Listen to hybrid dub versions with musicians from the international dub community, showing the dub planet is a growing culture.

Dub music today appears to be attractive to the alternative-minded, to people continually curious about the other side of the story, the side that isn’t told by world leaders, omnipresent and terrorizing news media and big industry.

Tracks like Terrorists & Inhalers (feat. Keith Le Blanc), Evil Empire or Watch The Future (feat. Camel) have been inspired by a critical mind. We don’t consider our music being just easy listening stuff, more than that our sound shall give an impression about the real power of dub, healing the western world mind fuck with music. Because this is our job and dub reggae music is our roots. (listen to Mikey Dreads / Mad Professors version of Dub Is The Roots !)

Rhythm tracks for Heavy Heavy Monster Dub and Preemptive Dub were laid down by Sly & Robbie. Our partner Devon D supervised the Jamaican part of the production. When the tapes were returned to Vienna, we finished the songs at Go!East Studio, providing the original Dubblestandart sound, inspired by Europe's melting vibes. By then Dreadzone and Manasseh remixed these tracks. Seven Dub from Paris also added a wonderful Preemptive Dub version.
Real urban dub has been contributed by Sounds From The Ground from London, who worked on Evil Empire and 10 Tons Of Dope. This is big city dub style, deeper than deep.

Long time was spent traveling and preparing this record. In New York, London and Kingston people were met, and we took in their feelings about life and love, their ways of looking at the changing music scene and last but not least their concern about the future of this planet. (Where will the so-called leaders lead us to?)

We now present you with the culmination of this journey: 15 smooth dub tracks, that shall make u feel good and positive about life. Love to u all.

Just in time for its ten year anniversary festivities ECHO BEACH releases in early 2004 what will definitely come to be known as a milestone. "Yeah, right, another one of those reggae compilations" I hear the weary consumer sigh, but not so! You have indeed been waiting for this one, as it represents the finest in contemporary Germany reggae without forgetting for one moment its historic dimension. All the usual suspects set the yardstick and quite a few ambitious newcomers are happy to join the party. As a statistical aside: About five tracks (Jan Delay, Freundeskreis, Gentlemen, Fettes Brot, FK Allstars) from this release had made their way into the German Top 100 in their previous single incarnations and half of the artists on this compilation made it to the German Top 100 album charts!

Reggae Germany Downtown has been compiled primarily with the listener's enjoyment in mind - which is precisely what reggae is all about; however, we also wanted to draw attention to the political agenda that has been and still is an integral part of reggae music, a fact that these days is sometimes forgotten.

Reggae Germany definitely plays in the international league, with stars of worldwide acclaim such as Sly & Robbie, Sizzla, Junior Reid, Tanya Stephens and Dillinger all being featured on Reggae Germany Downtown. Befor we forget it, "downtown" is used as a metaphor for contemporary reggae, even though the dancehall aspect has clearly, and by the way quite deliberately, not been given much room here. Which is a bit to do with the political and sociocritical aspects of our compilation....

In summer 2000, Rolling Stone magazine produced the CD DUB AND BEYOND as an add-on to one of their issues, containing songs from Sly & Robbie, Dub Syndicate, Bim Sherman, as well as Mad Professor. On this compilation, Dubblestandart is featured with their song Dinkeldub from the '96 release VIENNA DUB MELANGE. This enabled Dubblestandart to be put on the world map in one fell swoop, disseminating their cool, hip and smooth DS sound effectively among a huge audience.
